Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure all instruments are properly assembled
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce strict aseptic techniques
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgeries
- Prepare and transport specimens for laboratory analysis
- Manage inventory and restock operating room supplies
- Collaborate with nursing staff and surgical team for seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- BLS certification and ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
- Valid NJ state license or eligible for immediate licensure
