Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operative procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange sterile instruments.
- Monitor the sterile field and alert the surgeon of any discrepancies.
- Handle patient specimens and specimens for pathology accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Perform preoperative and postoperative care as directed by nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- One (1) to three (3) years of experience preferred.
