Responsibilities
- Preparation: Prepare operating rooms and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment prior to procedures.
- Assistance: Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
- Instrument Management: Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain sterile field and ensure no items are retained.
- Patient Care: Transport patients to and from the operating suite, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and supplies used.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to hospital and surgical center protocols and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain high attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
