Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating needs
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques throughout procedures
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after surgeries
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms with proper safety protocols
- Scrub and gown for surgical cases and assist with draping patients
- Manage surgical inventory and restock supplies between procedures
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent certification (CST preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care surgical environment
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- BLS certification with current CPR training
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
