Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment according to procedure requirements
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment while maintaining sterile technique
- Monitor and maintain sterile environments throughout surgical procedures
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure completeness
- Handle and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment following established protocols
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms with proper positioning and safety measures
- Document procedural activities accurately in patient records
Qualifications
- Completion of accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1-year experience in perioperative services
- Proficiency in sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Ability to maintain composure during emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Current BLS certification
