Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis
- Manage inventory and sterilization of surgical instruments
- Document procedural details in electronic health records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of scrub experience in general surgery
- BLS/CPR certification
- Familiarity with robotic surgical systems (da Vinci preferred)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Flexibility to work on-call weekends/holidays
