Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery by arranging sterile drapes and instruments.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field and strictly adhere to infection control protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs and alert the surgical team to any changes.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure safety.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room using proper techniques.
- Document surgical procedures and ensure accurate patient records are maintained.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, anesthesiologists, and physicians.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
