Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI)
- Triage patients based on medical urgency and acuity
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Initiate appropriate interventions while awaiting physician evaluation
- Document assessments and care plans accurately in the EHR system
- Collaborate with charge nurses to optimize department flow
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and OSHA regulations
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proficiency in ESI triage protocols
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with Epic or similar EHR systems
