Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions and prioritize care based on acuity using established triage protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers regarding care plans
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely patient flow
- Provide education to patients and families on treatment options and resources
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current New York State RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years emergency or urgent care nursing experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency with electronic health records (e.g., Epic)
- BSN degree preferred
- Experience with triage systems (e.g., ESI) preferred
