Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments via phone or secure video channels to determine the urgency of medical conditions.
- Apply advanced clinical knowledge to recommend appropriate home care, over-the-counter treatments, or referrals to urgent care/ER.
- Manage high call volumes while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor and ensuring accurate documentation in the EHR system.
- Evaluate symptoms and vital signs to triage incoming requests and prioritize care based on medical necessity.
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure continuity of care and resolve complex patient inquiries.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and company protocols to ensure patient privacy and data security.
Qualifications
- Active RN Licensure in the State of Louisiana or compact state eligibility.
- Previous Triage or Call Center Nursing experience is required.
- Strong clinical assessment skills with the ability to differentiate between minor ailments and critical emergencies.
- BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical instructions clearly.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
