Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough telephone and in-person patient assessments to determine medical urgency
- Provide accurate triage recommendations and care instructions per established protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for seamless patient handoffs
- Maintain detailed electronic health records with precise documentation
- Handle emergency situations calmly while maintaining regulatory compliance
- Monitor patient flow and optimize department resource allocation
- Delicate patient education regarding home care and follow-up procedures
Qualifications
- Current unrestricted North Carolina RN license
- Minimum 3 years emergency or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficient in Epic EHR systems
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
- Experience with telehealth triaging preferred
