Responsibilities
- Assess incoming patient calls and determine urgency of care using standardized protocols
- Triage patients based on clinical judgment and established triage systems
- Provide clear instructions to patients and families regarding care pathways
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure timely interventions
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records
- Monitor patient flow and communicate bottlenecks to department leadership
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
Qualifications
- Current New Mexico RN license (compact license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years emergency or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficient in EHR systems (EPIC preferred)
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision
