Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine acuity levels and prioritize care in the emergency department
- Accurately document patient information, symptoms, and vital signs using our advanced electronic health record system
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely patient flow and care coordination
- Provide clear communication to patients and families about wait times, procedures, and next steps
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and departmental protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and emergency response drills
- Support patient education on health conditions and preventive care measures
Qualifications
- Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license (or eligible to obtain immediately)
- Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ASN/BSN) degree
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
