Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Make critical decisions regarding patient acuity and care prioritization
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care teams to coordinate patient flow
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in EMR systems
- Provide patient education and reassurance during high-stress situations
- Maintain compliance with TJC, HIPAA, and California nursing standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California (CA)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency with Epic or comparable EMR systems
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional communication skills in diverse populations
- BSN or higher degree preferred
