Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical history to determine urgency and appropriate care level
- Provide accurate triage decisions following ENA protocols and evidence-based guidelines
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers during emergency situations
- Document patient encounters meticulously in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate patient care pathways
- Monitor department workflow and implement process improvements for efficiency
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and emergency drills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California with at least 2 years emergency department experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proven ability to make rapid clinical decisions in high-pressure environments
- Strong communication skills with diverse populations
- Proficiency in EHR systems (experience with Epic preferred)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience with triage protocols and emergency department workflows
