Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions upon arrival using standardized triage protocols
- Make critical decisions on patient prioritization and care pathways
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for rapid interventions
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems
- Educate patients and families on emergency care processes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain compliance with JCAHO and emergency department standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois (required)
- Minimum 3 years emergency nursing experience
- Valid BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Experience with triage systems (ESI, CTAS)
- Exceptional communication and de-escalation abilities
- EMR proficiency (Epic preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred)
