Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments and prioritize cases using Emergency Severity Index (ESI)
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans
- Accurately document patient encounters in EHR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients and families during critical moments
- Monitor department flow and initiate surge protocols during high-volume periods
- Maintain clinical expertise through ongoing education and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California with minimum 2 years ED or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Proven expertise in patient triage protocols and emergency assessment techniques
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Strong proficiency in Epic or similar electronic health record systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated cultural competency
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
