Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments during overnight shifts
- Perform vital signs monitoring, ECGs, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing
- Administer medications under physician supervision and maintain accurate documentation
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory of medical supplies
- Coordinate patient flow and triage incoming emergency cases during night hours
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and post-care instructions
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure seamless overnight care delivery
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in fast-paced healthcare setting
- BLS/CPR certification and current HIPAA compliance knowledge
- Strong proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Exceptional communication skills for overnight patient interactions
- Ability to work independently during low-supervision night shifts
- Flexibility to cover rotating weekends and holidays as needed
- Valid New York State medical assistant license
