Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care by assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians under the supervision of registered nurses.
- Assist with mobility and transfer patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers safely.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Document patient care activities and updates in electronic health records (EHR) accurately and timely.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required in the State of Maryland.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Strong compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help patients.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High school diploma or GED required.
