Responsibilities
- Receive and review prescription orders from physicians and patients for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and package prescription medications according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and verifying expiration dates.
- Assist the Pharmacist in the compounding of medications and the verification of prescriptions.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding medications and insurance coverage.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards (HIPAA).
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required (e.g., PTCE or ExCPT).
- Current state license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in Texas.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner).
