As a Pharmacy Technician at MedCare Solutions, you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient medication dispensing. Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records with HIPAA compliance
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Operate pharmacy software systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for prescription processing
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care coordination
- Maintain clean and organized pharmacy workspace according to regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- 1+ years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and pharmaceutical terminology
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex medication information
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Valid Indiana Pharmacy Technician license
- Background check and drug screening required
