Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Regularly check and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with Medical Procedures: Support the nursing team with wound care, feeding assistance, and the operation of medical equipment as trained.
- Maintain Patient Records: Accurately document patient care activities, behaviors, and changes in condition in electronic health records (EHR).
- Ensure Safety: Implement safety protocols to prevent falls, infections, and other accidents within the facility.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status and needs.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid Florida CNA license required.
- CPR/BLS: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
- Experience: Prior experience as a CNA in a hospital or long-term care facility is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of infection control, body mechanics, and patient safety standards.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to show empathy, patience, and respect for patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
