Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms according to OSHA protocols
- Take accurate dental impressions and develop high-quality radiographs
- Manage patient flow, including scheduling, charting, and post-procedure instructions
- Implement infection control protocols and maintain HIPAA compliance
- Train on advanced digital imaging systems (DEXIS, Carestream)
- Coordinate with laboratories for prosthetic cases and orthodontic appliances
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or Texas RDA license
- Minimum 2 years of chairside experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in dental software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of infection control and OSHA standards
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Spanish bilingualism a significant plus
