Responsibilities
- Perform clinical duties including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication administration under physician supervision
- Prepare patients for examinations, assist with procedures, and maintain examination rooms
- Accurately document patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle administrative tasks efficiently
- Assist in emergency response protocols and maintain infection control standards
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery
Qualifications
- Current and valid Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems and basic medical software
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
