Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Accurately document patient information in EHR systems and maintain medical records
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tests
- Administer medications and immunizations under provider supervision
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle insurance verification
- Assist with sterile processing and maintain clinical supply inventories
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current and valid Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory or hospital setting
- BLS/CPR certification and Texas state registration
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/EMR preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends
- High school diploma or equivalent required
