Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and update medical records accurately in our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Assist Providers: Perform clinical duties under the supervision of physicians and nurse practitioners, including taking vitals, wound care, and preparing for examinations.
- Administer Care: Administer injections, perform phlebotomy, and provide patient education regarding medications and treatment plans.
- Room Preparation: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized exam room environment, ensuring all medical equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
- Communicate Effectively: Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team, answering questions and providing exceptional customer service.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and all hospital policies regarding patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting is preferred; however, we will consider highly motivated graduates with externship experience.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are mandatory.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic medical records software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and strong computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric attitude.
- Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
