Responsibilities
- Perform routine vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight) and EKGs as directed by physicians.
- Greet patients and verify demographic information accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Assist providers during examinations and procedures, preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Prepare patients for testing, administer injections, and handle specimen collection.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure exam rooms are stocked and sanitized.
- Provide patient education and instructions regarding medications and follow-up care.
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced medical office environment.
- Professional demeanor and a commitment to HIPAA compliance.
