Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 95% accuracy
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service rendering
- Resolve claim denials and appeals within 30-day SLA
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all billing operations
- Reconcile accounts receivable reports weekly
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate patient billing records in Epic EMR system
- Stay updated on CMS and payer policy changes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient/hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Advanced knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial payer policies
- Proficient in Epic, Medisoft, or similar billing software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy standards
- Ability to manage high-volume workloads under tight deadlines
