Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient prescription records
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and HIPAA standards
- Operate pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) and automated dispensing systems
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication regimens
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license or eligibility
- Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
