Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records with HIPAA compliance
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Operate pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for prescription processing
- Prepare sterile compounds and IV admixtures when required
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to clarify prescription orders
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of medication interactions and pharmaceutical terminology
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health records
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Basic math skills for dosage calculations and inventory management
- CPR certification preferred
