Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosage instructions
- Manage inventory and coordinate medication orders with suppliers
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records with HIPAA compliance
- Counsel patients on medication usage and potential side effects
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize patient care workflows
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for dispensing and tracking
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and medication safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and data entry
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Flexibility to cover evening and weekend shifts as needed
