As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples for clinical testing, transfusions, research, or blood donations. You will ensure accuracy in labeling and log samples while providing exceptional service to our diverse patient population.
Responsibilities
- Perform Phlebotomy: Accurately collect blood samples via venipuncture and capillary puncture.
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Sample Handling: Properly label, process, and transport blood samples to the laboratory.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records and log test results securely.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols and sterilization procedures.
- Equipment Maintenance: Routine cleaning and calibration of phlebotomy equipment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification (ASCP, CPT1, or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- License: Valid California state license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
