Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary collections on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures to ensure comfort and reduce anxiety, and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Label, process, and accurately log blood samples and specimens into the laboratory information system (LIS).
- Adhere to strict safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines and infection control measures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with Joint Commission standards.
- Collaborate with nurses and medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and accurate diagnostic reporting.
Qualifications
- Current, active Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
