Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identity and accurately label all blood specimens for laboratory processing.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety and infection control protocols (OSHA standards).
- Assist with patient intake, vitals monitoring, and preparing patients for procedures.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of all collection data and test orders.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff to ensure timely results.
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be up-to-date.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
