Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in our Level I Trauma Center, prioritizing critical cases
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders
- Monitor patient vitals and document electronic health records accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions
- Maintain strict compliance with JCAHO and NY State nursing regulations
- Participate in rapid response and code blue emergencies
- Mentor new nurses and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Valid NYS RN license (or compact license with NY endorsement)
- BSN degree required (MSN preferred)
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience (ER/ICU preferred)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities
- Experience with Epic EMR system
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
