Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions via telephone triage and prioritize emergency cases according to acuity protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely patient flow and resource allocation
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation while adhering to HIPAA compliance standards
- Provide clear, compassionate patient education regarding symptoms, home care, and when to seek immediate care
- Oversee patient intake process, including vitals collection and preliminary diagnostic assessments
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and emergency response drills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care triage experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
