Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity using standardized triage protocols and clinical judgment
- Coordinate with physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff for seamless care delivery
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions
- Manage patient flow and department resource allocation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency drills
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years ED or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic EHR or comparable systems
- Strong assessment skills for pediatric/adult populations
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
