Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including transfers to and from beds and wheelchairs, ensuring safety at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients, following infection control protocols strictly.
- Document patient care plans, daily progress, and any changes in condition in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team regarding patient needs and concerns.
- Administer medication as directed by licensed nursing staff, adhering to all safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered North Carolina CNA license required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR is mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient dignity and respect.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Compassionate demeanor with a proven track record of providing excellent patient care.
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Experience in long-term care or home health is preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
