Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care to residents in a manner that respects their dignity and promotes their independence.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and report any significant changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the licensed nurse, ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment to prevent accidents and infections.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
Qualifications
- Current, active Louisiana State CNA license.
- CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist patients with mobility.
