Responsibilities
- Perform accurate vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations) and patient intake assessments.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and minor medical interventions.
- Prepare and administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Manage patient charts and medical records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, including phlebotomy and EKGs, following strict safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized examination room environment.
- Answer incoming calls, schedule patient appointments, and provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), or NCMA (NHA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Valid Texas Driverβs License and reliable transportation.
- Proven experience in clinical and administrative medical assisting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.
