Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for weekend patient population
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures with precision and compassion
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care across shifts
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records within established timeframes
- Mentor junior staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Respond effectively to emergency situations using ACLS/PALS protocols
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO and state regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (Virginia or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience in Med/Surg or ICU
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in Epic EMR system
- Weekend availability mandatory (no weekday shifts)
- BSN preferred or commitment to obtain within 18 months
