Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive patient care during weekend shifts with focus on critical assessment and intervention
- Administer medications and treatments following evidence-based protocols and safety standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Provide patient and family education on health conditions and treatment plans
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and weekend-specific care protocols
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and rapid response activations
Qualifications
- Active RN license in District of Columbia (or compact license)
- BSN degree required; MSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience in telemetry/ICU/ER
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
- Strong clinical assessment skills and critical thinking abilities
- Experience with Epic electronic health records system
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to rotate between day/weekend shifts as needed
