Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)
- Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits
- Appeal denied claims with supporting documentation
- Post payments and adjustments in EHR systems (Epic/Cerner preferred)
- Reconcile accounts receivable reports monthly
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and coding guidelines (ICD-10, CPT)
- Collaborate with clinical teams for charge capture accuracy
Qualifications
- 3+ years medical billing experience in outpatient/hospital settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Athena, AdvancedMD)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Ability to manage high-volume claims deadlines
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
