Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound sterile/non-sterile products
- Process insurance claims and manage patient medication profiles
- Perform inventory control including ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceuticals
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict regulatory documentation standards
- Operate pharmacy automation systems and electronic health records
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and drug interactions
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in team environments
- Valid CPR certification preferred
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
