Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and handle patient billing inquiries
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for inventory and record-keeping
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care transitions
Qualifications
- Active Maryland Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and pharmacy compliance standards
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills with ability to multitask in fast-paced settings
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Background check and drug screening required
