Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections across diverse patient demographics
- Process and handle specimens with strict adherence to CLIA and OSHA protocols
- Maintain detailed patient records and electronic documentation systems
- Ensure sterile techniques and infection control standards in all procedures
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation and post-collection care
- Collaborate with lab teams for efficient specimen processing and results delivery
Qualifications
- Current Tennessee Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture procedures
- Valid BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Demonstrated proficiency in handling difficult draws and pediatric patients
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced clinical environments
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate bedside manner
