Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient demographics
- Process specimens with meticulous attention to labeling and chain of custody
- Operate automated analyzers and maintain laboratory equipment
- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparations
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians for specimen collection protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in venipuncture
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficiency in point-of-care testing (POCT)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of HIPAA and laboratory safety protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent required
