Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough telephone and in-person patient assessments using standardized triage protocols
- Make critical decisions about patient acuity levels and prioritize care based on medical urgency
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to develop appropriate care plans
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Provide clear patient education on home care instructions and follow-up requirements
- Manage patient flow and communicate wait times to reduce anxiety
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of California
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
