Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist clients with mobility, transferring, and walking using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to prescribed dietary plans.
- Administer medication reminders and monitor clients for any changes in physical or mental health status.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, social events, or community outings.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification is mandatory.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation are required for travel to client homes.
- Experience in geriatric care, home health, or personal assistance is preferred but not always required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patience and empathy.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
