Responsibilities
- Provide Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their medications and assist with medication administration as directed by a nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and client preferences.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for the client, including light laundry and vacuuming.
- Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments, social events, and shopping trips as needed.
- Communication: Keep families and supervisors updated on the client's condition and any changes in their health.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED. Certification as a CNA, HHA, or CMT is preferred but not always required.
- Valid Driver's License: Must have a reliable vehicle and valid insurance.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Compassion & Patience: Genuine desire to help others and ability to handle challenging situations with grace.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
- Reliability: Punctual and consistent attendance record.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
